How to move beyond fear: How your soul finds another path

Have you ever wondered what truly stops us from doing the things we feel called to do?

Why fear shows up so strongly when we are about to step toward something meaningful, something aligned with our dreams?

It’s a question I’ve been reflecting on deeply.

Because recently, I found myself facing that very thing.

When fear appears before growth

This week, I challenged myself to do something that felt quite uncomfortable.

I started recording videos.

Now, for many people that may not seem like a big thing, but for me it was well outside my comfort zone. It took me several days of reflection, thinking, and working through the fear before I could even press record.

And I realised something very important during that process. Fear doesn’t necessarily mean we’re not capable. Often, fear simply means we are stepping into something new.

Something that our mind hasn’t yet learned how to feel safe doing.

The story we tell ourselves about fear

A little while ago I had to do a radio interview.

Even though no one could see me, I still felt incredibly nervous.

The mind can be fascinating that way.

We imagine all the things that could go wrong, all the ways we might not perform perfectly, and suddenly something simple begins to feel overwhelming.

But instead of avoiding the situation, I changed my approach.

I asked the interviewer if I could provide the questions beforehand.

That way I could prepare my thoughts and feel grounded before the interview even began. What I discovered through that experience was something very empowering.

Sometimes overcoming fear isn’t about forcing ourselves through it. Sometimes it’s about finding a different path around it.

Approaching fear from another direction

Fear often dissolves when we break things down into smaller steps.

When something begins to feel familiar, the nervous system relaxes. What once felt intimidating begins to feel manageable.

And with each step, confidence grows. This is how we slowly expand our comfort zone and move closer to the life we truly want to create.

Because in truth, fear is often simply: False Evidence Appearing Real.

A moment on a tiny bridge: a fear analogy

While recording the video (below), I had a moment that felt like the perfect metaphor.

I was standing on a tiny bridge made of two narrow planks of wood, surrounded by beautiful rice fields.

My intention was to cross it so I could walk through the fields and reach the ocean.

But it had rained the night before, and the ground had turned into swampy mud.

Standing there in white pants, I realised something.

It wasn’t fear stopping me, it was practicality.

So instead of forcing my way through the muddy path, I simply decided to find another route. And in that moment, it felt like such a powerful reminder.

Sometimes the path forward isn’t about pushing harder. Sometimes it’s about changing direction.

Your dreams are always on the other side

Life is a little like solving a Rubik’s Cube.

You keep turning it, approaching it from different angles, until suddenly something clicks and the solution appears.

The same is true for our dreams. If one path feels blocked, it doesn’t mean the dream isn’t meant for you. It may simply mean that your soul is guiding you toward another route.

Another perspective. Another way of approaching the same destination.

Because the truth is, we are capable of far more than we often allow ourselves to believe.

Growth lives outside the comfort zone

Every time we move beyond fear, something shifts inside us.

What once felt uncomfortable becomes familiar. What once felt impossible becomes achievable. And slowly, our world expands.

The comfort zone grows with us. What lies on the other side of that fear is often exactly what we were searching for.

Just like the beach waiting on the other side of the rice fields.

A gentle reflection for you

I invite you to take a moment today and ask yourself:

Where might fear be holding you back right now?

And more importantly:

Is there another path you could take toward the same dream?

Sometimes all it takes is looking at the situation from a different angle.

Your soul already knows the way.

With love and light always,

Tracey ✨
